ARKLING’s complete legal information: identity, rules of use, accounts, privacy, cookies and minimal data processing.
1. Legal identity and contact
ARKLING is an independent editorial project created and managed by a team specialising in visual research, editing and digital product.
The site’s owner, founder and legal operator is Manon Felix, established in Spain. The team handles enquiries, incidents, rights requests and content-removal notices at support@arkling.co.
2. Editorial purpose
ARKLING provides a visual index of personal style for editorial, cultural and informational purposes. The site currently does not sell products, process payments, offer paid subscriptions or act as a commercial intermediary.
3. Ownership and third-party rights
The visual identity, editorial selection, texts, structure, code and other original elements belong to ARKLING or are used with permission. Third-party brands, garments and materials belong to their respective owners; their inclusion does not imply sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement.
To report a possible infringement, identify the content, affected right, your relationship to that right and the action requested. The team will assess sufficiently supported requests in good faith and may temporarily remove content while checks are carried out.
4. Acceptance and permitted use
By accessing the site, you accept these Terms and Conditions. You may browse and use its features for personal and lawful purposes. You must not bypass security, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, automate abusive traffic, systematically extract content, impersonate another person or use the site to infringe any rights.
The team may limit or block uses that compromise security, availability, editorial integrity or third-party rights.
5. Accounts and My Archive
Browsing ARKLING does not require an account. My Archive uses Better Auth (Google OAuth and ARKLING email/password) so visitors may continue with Google or create an ARKLING account. Google never shares a Google password with ARKLING; ARKLING account passwords are stored only as protected password hashes.
ARKLING stores the account identifier, name, email, authentication and session records needed to secure the account, together with saved-look and submission records in Cloudflare D1. Saved looks remain private to the authenticated account. Users may remove individual looks, sign out at any time and request deletion or export of their ARKLING records at support@arkling.co. Authentication data is not reused for advertising or optional marketing.
6. Images, artificial intelligence and outfit submissions
Images generated with artificial intelligence are visibly identified. Locations may describe creative inspiration rather than where a real photograph was taken. The team seeks to avoid misleading representations and will correct materially inaccurate content that is reasonably substantiated. If you choose Suggest a caption, ARKLING sends the selected image to OpenAI for one-time analysis only after you request it. ARKLING requests non-persistent processing and does not save the suggested draft unless you use it in a submission.
You must be at least 18 to submit an outfit. A submission is never published automatically. You must be authorised to upload the outfit and image. If it belongs to or identifies someone else, provide their name or social profile and confirm their explicit permission. A credit or tag does not replace the necessary copyright or image-right permission. Do not submit images of minors.
You retain ownership. By submitting, you grant ARKLING a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free editorial licence to host, review, reproduce, crop or resize and, only if selected, display the image and submitted caption or credit on ARKLING and in ARKLING editorial communications directly presenting that selection. The licence does not permit sale, merchandise or unrelated advertising. ARKLING moderates every submission before publication and may reject, defer or remove it for editorial, safety or rights reasons. To withdraw the submission, revoke the licence for future use or request removal, email support@arkling.co with its reference. ARKLING will stop new uses and remove it within a reasonable operational period, subject to limited retention required to document the request, protect rights or comply with law.
7. Availability, warranties and liability
The team works to keep the site safe and available but may update, suspend or remove features and content. The service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, complete absence of errors or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing published constitutes professional advice or a purchase recommendation.
To the extent permitted by law, ARKLING is not liable for decisions made solely from editorial content, loss of locally saved selections, interruptions beyond the team’s reasonable control or indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.

External links are provided for reference. ARKLING does not control their availability, security, policies or content and does not assume responsibility for third-party services.
9. Privacy controller and contact
The data controller is Manon Felix, founder of ARKLING and established in Spain. The ARKLING team processes data only under her direction and for the purposes stated here. For privacy enquiries or to exercise rights, email support@arkling.co.
10. Data, purposes and legal bases
If you sign in, submit an outfit or email the team, ARKLING may process the data needed for that action. Data comes directly from you, from the authentication provider or is generated strictly when providing and protecting the service. ARKLING does not buy databases, enrich accounts with social-network data or create advertising profiles.
- Account and My Archive: account identifier, name, email, protected credential or OAuth account data, session records, saved-look identifiers and save timestamps, to secure and provide the requested account and archive service. New accounts receive one service welcome introducing ARKLING; it is not a marketing subscription.
- Outfit submissions: the re-encoded image, caption, optional location and tags, submission and account identifiers, rights confirmations and their version and timestamp, moderation status and technical file metadata, to review the submission, administer the editorial licence and, only if selected, prepare publication.
- Enquiries and support: email address, any name supplied and message content, to respond to requests.
- Rights, moderation and security: limited records needed to prevent abuse, protect accounts, assess permissions, investigate incidents and document rights or removal requests.
Marketing is not a condition of registration or submission. ARKLING does not currently send promotional communications and no advertising profile is created.
11. Necessary sharing, transfers and retention
ARKLING does not sell, rent or share account or submission data for advertising. OpenAI Sites provides hosting, OpenAI processes an image only when a signed-in user requests an optional caption suggestion, Better Auth manages account sessions, Google provides optional OAuth sign-in, Cloudflare D1 stores account, archive and submission records, Cloudflare R2 stores re-encoded submission images, and Microsoft 365 handles support correspondence, the one-time transactional account welcome and operational submission notifications to ARKLING support. Providers receive only the data needed for their role, under their applicable safeguards and contractual duties.
Where processing occurs outside the European Economic Area, ARKLING will require a valid mechanism and safeguards. Account and archive records remain while the account is active and are deleted or restricted following a valid deletion request. Rejected, withdrawn and pending submission records and images are retained only as operationally necessary and, as a general maximum, during 12 months, except where a shorter deletion request applies or limited retention is legally necessary. Published content follows the editorial licence until removal, withdrawal or another valid legal basis ends.
12. Your data-protection rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw consent where it is the legal basis. You may also close the account and request deletion of its archive. The team may request proportionate information to verify identity. You may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
13. Security and automated decisions
The team applies measures proportionate to risk, including access restrictions, external authentication, encryption in transit, provider review and separation of structured records from submitted files. ARKLING does not make automated decisions with legal effects or create user profiles. Archive and submission activity is not used for behavioural analytics.
15. Changes, notice, severability and applicable law
The team may update these Terms and Conditions for specified and legitimate reasons, including changes in law, security risks, technical operation, available features or the editorial service. The current version and effective date will always be published here.
Material changes affecting registered users will be notified reasonably in advance by email, an account notice or another prominent service notice. The notice will explain the effective date and, where relevant, the user’s option to stop using the affected feature or delete the account before the change applies. Changes will not retroactively remove accrued rights, and ARKLING will request fresh consent where the law requires it. Minor drafting corrections and editorial updates that do not reduce user rights may take effect when published.
If one provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect. These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes will be submitted to the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law, without limiting mandatory consumer rights.
If the language versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
Public comments
Signed-in visitors may publish comments about a look. Comments appear publicly under the username you choose during registration; this username cannot be changed. Your email is not displayed. Registered users can find usernames to mention with @. Mentions are linked to the mentioned account. We store the comment, its date, the look and an account identifier so authors can delete their own comments. Published comments remain until deleted. Account data export and deletion include comments and your public username.
No insults, personal attacks, harassment, hate or threats are allowed. A basic automated English and Spanish language filter rejects detected expressions before publication; it can miss context or make mistakes. Rejected comment text is not stored. Brief per-account posting limits help reduce spam. You can report a missed offence or request a review at support@arkling.co.
